Description: This event is a celebration of the ‘King of Liscio’ Raoul Casadei, on his birthday, and the 70th anniversary of Secondo Casadei’s iconic song “Romagna mia”, composed in Gatteo Mare and recorded in 1954.
Gatteo has planned for an entire night to be dedicated to liscio music and to the man who managed to make Romagna’s traditions into a global phenomenon.
Thanks to Raoul and afterwards to his son Mirko, who picked up his father’s musical legacy, liscio music proved itself to be able to juggle with all sorts of sounds.
While the lyrics of the famous “Romagna Capitale” light up the streets of Gatteo Mare, Piazza Romagna Mia is the stage for Mirko Casadei and his Big Band to bring to life a musical journey through time, a dancing night below Romagna’s starry sky!
The event will host Renzo Rubino & la Sbanda, an artistic project that can conjugate best the qualities of a pop performer and author to Italian band tradition.
The evening will begin with a national gathering of town’s bands with over 400 musicians who will perform the songs ‘Ciao Mare’ and ‘Romagna mia’.
The event is sponsored by Comune di Gatteo and Cesenatico in collaboration with the national association ANBIMA.
